It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we share the passing of our dear Marcus Fakana.

Less than a year ago, our community came together to help bring Marcus home from Dubai. Your generosity, prayers and belief in his worth made what felt impossible, possible.

Marcus returned to his family filled with gratitude, hope and the determination to rebuild his life.

None of us could have imagined that we would be here today, preparing to say goodbye so soon.

In recent days, some public accounts have not reflected the true spirit of who Marcus was something that has deepened the pain of his loss.

Those who knew Marcus remember a young man defined not by assumptions, but by kindness, humour and a generous heart. He was bright, joyful and deeply loved by his family, teachers and friends. His warmth and laughter touched everyone around him.

We remember Marcus as he truly was and it is that truth we honour now.

His sudden passing has devastated his parents, family and all who followed his journey. Their grief is immeasurable, made even heavier by the pain of seeing Marcus’s story misunderstood in his final days.
