If you had the honor of knowing Chip, you knew real friendship and love. His favorite thing to do was to host large bonfires with his friends standing around laughing and drinking a beer. He loved the outdoors. Anything he did involved being outside. Whether that was simply mowing the lawn or smoking a big piece of meat. He wanted to be outside.

Chip suffered from severe COPD. In the last month he was hospitalized and intubated both times. He decided to sign a DNR after the second trip to the hospital. Unfortunately, we lost Chip the morning of, May 10, 2026.

His friends were his family. He had no next of kin or a life insurance policy. Because there's no next of kin, he doesn't qualify for the indigenous fund through the county. Which would help pay for his cremation. He was a man with very little means. His friends are the ones covering his final expenses.
