A Family's Fight: From Trauma to Hope

After constant prodding from my teenagers, we decided to ask for help. We left a domestic violence situation with their step father, who is in the Army. Since then we have experienced homelessness, hunger and financial ruin. The damage his abuse caused has left me unable to work full time due to the CPTSD and seizures caused by the abuse. 8 months of trauma therapy helped to get me to the point of being able to hold a part time job. The court system will not help and as the victims we have no voice. So between the mounting lawyer bills and monthly basics, we cannot keep up. The struggle is real and I’ve considered giving up. Meanwhile he walks free and slanders us all over social media. As a last resort, I finally reached out to his commander who basically told me the Army will not be able to do much except speak to him. Please help us.
