A family struggling

Donation protected
On February 9th, 2023, my husband was injured at work. He is a mechanic and was working on a car with a co-worker. When they were done, the co-worker was supposed to back it out of the bay. However, he hit the gas pedal and went right into my husband, crushing him between the wall and the car. He was out of work getting the treatment and physical therapy he needed. When he returned to work, he didn’t have any restrictions.

He was told that he will have pain here and there more than likely for the rest of his life. He just needed to learn to cope with it in his everyday life.

Fast forward to March of 2025. The pain was more consistent, and you could tell it was worse than ever. He was having a hard time walking, sitting, even lying down. He would wake up with leg cramps and would get them even while walking. He reached out to his lawyer to get a need for treatment doctor visit.

Travelers/workers comp dismissed the requests for need for treatment visits, so the lawyer sent him to one of his doctors. That was April 21st, 2025. My husband has been out of work since.

The doctor sent him for updated MRIs and X-rays. My husband has had 6 procedures on his back and spine since, the last being August 5th. He’s been doing physical therapy again.

The pain has been unbearable. There are days he can barely walk from the bed to the bathroom.

And Travelers/workers comp has yet to pay anything. Since April 21st, I have taken on the financial burden of being the only working adult in the household. We have depleted our savings. I drive for Lyft, and I have been pulling 10-12 hour days every day since April 21st, with only 2 days off since then.

One of those days was July 8th, when I was rear-ended by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel. I was okay, a little banged up, but my car not so much. Luckily, I could use my husband’s car to continue working day to day.

We had a court hearing on August 7th, 2025, for the motion on receiving pay for the time he has been out of work. The hearing was postponed for another 3 weeks.

At this particular time, I am struggling to keep afloat. I have been killing myself trying to make sure that all the bills are paid, there's food on the table for my family, keeping up with everyday needs, and then some. And I’m still falling short.

I’m asking for help, help keeping a roof over our heads. Help keep food on the table, help with school supplies and uniforms. Help with everyday needs, toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.

I wouldn’t ask for help if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Anything helps. Thank you!
