My name is Ayah AbdelKareem, I’m a Palestinian-American and this is a story of my Aunt and her daughters.
In the war-torn region of northern Gaza, my aunt Hanan lives with her three daughters—Yasmin (10), Sara (7), and little Noor (5). For years, despite the constant threat of violence, Hanan held onto hope, refusing to leave their home. Her husband, Ahmed, was their protector and source of strength. Tragically, Ahmed was killed in a recent bombing, leaving the family devastated and vulnerable.
Ahmed's death has forced Hanan to face a harsh reality: staying in Gaza is no longer an option. The safety and future of her daughters are at risk. Hanan has made the heartbreaking decision to flee to Egypt, seeking safety and a chance for a better life for her children.
The journey to Egypt is fraught with danger and uncertainty. Yasmin dreams of becoming a doctor, Sara aspires to be a teacher, and Noor just wants to play without fear. However, they cannot make this journey alone. They need your help.
COSTS:
The estimated cost for safe passage to Egypt is approximately $5000 per person, covering transportation, temporary housing, and basic necessities. For Hanan and her three daughters, the total cost is around $40,000.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
