Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out on behalf of my cousin Haley, her husband Jordan, and their two young boys. Haley is currently 22 weeks pregnant with their third child, a baby girl, and this pregnancy has taken a sudden and difficult turn.

Recently, they learned that their baby has a rare and serious heart condition called a Complete Heart Block. This condition causes the baby's heart to beat dangerously slow and will require specialized care both before and after birth. She will need surgery to implant a pacemaker, likely shortly after birth. This will then be followed by lifelong cardiac monitoring, treatments, and surgeries.

Due to the severity of the condition, Haley has been placed under high-risk care with specialists located in Edmonton, several hours drive from their home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Haley is already and will continue traveling frequently for monitoring and treatment for the remainder of her pregnancy, and is expected to go off work earlier than planned. The family is now preparing for a cesarean delivery in Edmonton, followed by a NICU stay that is projected to be at least a month for their daughter.

Haley and Jordan are strong, devoted parents who have been doing everything they can to prepare, but the challenges ahead are more than they can face alone. That’s why I’m organizing this GoFundMe, to provide them with some financial breathing room as they navigate this incredibly difficult and uncertain road.

-Supporting monthly bills and essential needs while Haley is on medical and maternity leave for the next 15 months.

-Covering long distance travel costs for ongoing medical appointments and the upcoming birth in Edmonton (gas, parking, lodging, meals).

-Managing out-of-pocket expenses related to the baby’s heart condition and extended NICU stay away from home.

This young family is doing their best to hold everything together, parenting two little boys while preparing to welcome a baby who will need immediate life-saving care. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a real and lasting difference.
