We are raising funds to support Des and Mel Reaburn-Jenkin after the loss of their family home of 17 years. The house was completely destroyed, along with everything inside it — all possessions, treasured memories of their children growing up, and the life they had built over 25 years of marriage.

They left the fire zone with only the clothes they were wearing, along with their two cats and their much-loved geriatric Labrador. Like so many families in situations like this, they are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting again from nothing.

While they were insured, it is still unclear how far that coverage will extend or how long it will take to be resolved. In the meantime, there are immediate and unavoidable costs for housing, daily essentials, and caring for their animals.
