Hi, my name is Josh Marshall. My brother, who is only 38, has had a rough go at life. He's always been a great kid and anyone who has ever met him thinks the world of him. He has often been referred to as a "Good Egg."
Last year, he was in an unfortunate accident. He was T-boned by an 18-wheeler but survived. He has always been tough as nails. He healed and continued to work his fingers to the bone, often working 20-40 hours of overtime to take care of his wife and 5-year-old daughter.
On August 26th, he was admitted to the Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, AL. He went in thinking the episode he had early that morning might have been a nerve issue. It turned out he had a 12-inch tear in his descending aorta, also known as Aortic Dissection.
He was in the hospital for an entire week before they released him, but they discovered he has COPD, significant plaque buildup in his arteries, and a serious case of sleep apnea.
His life is forever changed. He needs to go on disability, can no longer drive, and his wife is currently searching for employment.
Although they sent him home, he still has to undergo an extremely risky surgery in a month, which will create additional turbulence for his family.
His wife's parents are no longer with us, his parents are older and can only do so much, and I live 200 miles away.
I can provide some financial relief, but not for long and not much. If you can find it in your heart to help this family, we would forever be grateful.
Thank you and God bless.
