Hi, I’m Angela one of Dani’s friends. Dani is one of the strongest most selfless women I’ve ever known. She is not one to ask for help, but her family is going to really need help in the coming days.

This week she took her mother Barb to the ER for what they believed was a Chron’s flair up. They discovered her colon had perforated and took her into emergency surgery to fix it.

She did well in surgery, although they had to take out the sigmoid section of her colon.

We were feeling quite hopeful, however while looking at her CT scan the following day they noticed that at the base of her brain two of the nerves on the left and one on the right is pinched, not allowing adequate bloodflow to her brain.

Her MRI showed a massive ischemic stroke affecting both sides of her brain. She is currently not very responsive and it looks like her body may shut down. Dani doesn’t want her to suffer anymore than she already is. If she does survive she will be severely disabled. Barb is the only parent that Dani has ever known and the possibility of losing her is devastating both emotionally and financially.

Dani, her husband Dave, their three children and Barb are a family unit. And losing her means that the rest of the family loses everything, including their home that they can't afford to stay in. The home that Barb worked her whole life for. Faced with huge medical bills and daily living expnseses, it’s not feasible and they will be left without a home. Barb is also their sole care giver for their children while they are at work, therefore alternate plans are needed which is an additional cost.

Unfortunately Barb does not have a life insurance policy and they are at a total loss at what to do.
