A family pushed to the limit let down by welfare system

Hi my name is mary lannon wife to a wonderful husband noel and amazing son adam who's 14 . This is the last thing I want to do to expose my.private life in public but left with no option. Diagnosed with breast cancer just pre xmas have had surgery with reconstruction and complications necessitating re entry to hosp over new year ... am.now facing 7 months of chemo plus radiotherapy followed by hormone therapy for 10 years ..for those that know me I run a small acupuncture business for years locally tipping away happy out helping people as much as I can even.if they cudnt pay for treatments .. background is nursing for years but left hse in 2013 pursing self emoymemt .. now I find myself in a situation because I'm self employed all applications for SW have been refused hse won't give my nursing pension until all treatment completed , I am.looking at a good 14 months or more of treatment.. there is one below average wage coming into our house if nothing I want to highlight the lack of assistance for honest middle of the road irish citizens..I never thought I would find myself baring all on social media but have been left with no option..my husbands wage is over SW criteria by 53e per week gross there no taking into account lost pay due to taking time off to take me to appointmemts .. our bills are mounting up mortgage car loans and one income wont cover our expenses..we dont live outside our means and could have managed if we got SW assistance but unfortunately it lookskile this wont happen due to me being self employed and niels income being over by 53e a week This is the reality of living in ireland for the people that just try to.do.the right thing and get by ..is a disgrace...thank you for reading
