Klara’s Journey:
Klara, just a baby, has already survived more than 3 strokes in five months. She is now undergoing extensive treatment for cerebral vascular arteriopathy, a rare condition that affects blood vessels in the brain and increases the risk of future strokes.
Klara has lost movement on the entire right side of her body and is fighting to regain basic functions like grabbing objects, putting weight on her legs, and even swallowing. Her team is hopeful, but the road ahead includes inpatient rehab, feeding tube support, and weeks to months of therapy—all while her parents and siblings navigate the heartbreak of watching her struggle.
Maeve’s Story:
Maeve, Klara’s identical twin, shares an identical brain structure and faces the same terrifying risk of strokes. While she hasn’t had a stroke, she’s undergoing constant monitoring and medical workups, and the family is preparing for similar care needs to protect her future.
The Whole Family:
With five children, including their other little ones, Jessica and Brandon are juggling constant medical appointments, therapy sessions, sleepless nights, and the daily chaos of caring for a family in crisis. They are fighting to keep their children safe from even a simple cold, as any illness could mean an ER trip for their vulnerable twins.
