Dear compassionate hearts around the world,
We are a family of 17 – half of us are innocent children – trapped in the unimaginable horror unfolding in Gaza. Since October 2023, our lives have been brutally torn apart by an ongoing genocide. Our home, once our sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the simple joys of family life, has been reduced to a haunting pile of rubble.
This isn't just a destroyed house; it's the physical manifestation of our shattered lives. It represents lost memories, vanished security, and the profound trauma inflicted upon our children. Every single day is a fight for survival, marked by the chilling echoes of fear, constant displacement, and the crushing weight of uncertainty. Our children, who should be playing freely and learning without worry, are instead living a nightmare, stripped of their childhood, their education, and their very sense of safety.
Meet Our Family: Faces of Resilience
The twins (Ayman & Anas), 17 years old: Dreams of becoming a engineers. They asks us daily when he can go back to school.
Abdulkareem, 13 years old: Used to love drawing; now he mostly draws what he sees around her – ruins and fear.
Our youngest, Mariam, just 2: She knows only the sound of conflict, not the lullabies of home.
Where Your Lifeline Goes: Every Dollar, A Step Towards Life
Your donation is more than just money; it’s a direct lifeline for our family, offering us a chance to survive and rebuild. Here’s precisely how your generosity will provide immediate relief and foster a flicker of hope:
Nourishment and Clean Water: Sustaining Our Very Existence ($100/day Goal)
The most basic human necessities have become a struggle for survival. Your contributions will provide nutritious food for all 17 of us, especially our growing children, ensuring no one goes to bed hungry. Crucially, it will also secure access to clean, safe drinking water, a precious and often scarce resource vital for preventing disease in our harsh conditions. This is about keeping our bodies alive, day by day.
Hygiene and Health: Restoring Dignity and Preventing Illness ($500/month Goal)
Amidst displacement and widespread destruction, maintaining hygiene is a monumental challenge. Funds will be used to purchase essential hygiene products like soap, shampoo, diapers for our little ones, and menstrual hygiene products for the women. We desperately need cleaning materials to sanitize any temporary shelter we find, helping to prevent the rapid spread of illness in an environment where medical care is almost nonexistent. This support is about protecting our health and preserving our dignity.
Education: Rekindling Dreams, One Lesson at a Time ($1500/month Goal)
Our children's education has been completely halted. We dream of the day they can resume learning. Your support will help us secure educational materials – basic books, notebooks, and pens – and, when possible, access to any available online learning resources or tutoring. This is about offering our children hope for a future, rebuilding their minds, and ensuring they have a chance at an education despite everything they've endured.
Daily Essentials: The Fabric of Daily Survival ($200/day Goal)
Beyond the critical necessities, there are countless daily needs we can no longer meet. Funds will help cover small, daily expenditures – a shared meal, a much-needed blanket against the cold, or even a simple toy to bring a moment of fleeting joy to a child’s face. This category also includes emergency medical supplies for minor injuries or illnesses that don't require hospital intervention (which is often unavailable). These are the small, yet vital, pieces that allow us to simply live through each day.
A Future Beyond Gaza: Our Ultimate Hope ($80,000 Goal)
Our deepest aspiration is to be able to leave Gaza and find lasting safety elsewhere once this war concludes. The funds would also help cover the immense, unforeseen costs associated with potential evacuation and resettlement, offering our children a chance at a future free from conflict, a chance to rebuild their lives in genuine safety.
We are a resilient family, holding onto every shred of hope amidst unimaginable despair. Your contribution, no matter how small, is a profound act of compassion. It will mean the difference between continued suffering and the chance to rebuild our lives and offer our children a future they deserve.
If you are able, please consider donating and sharing our story with your networks. Every share, every donation, brings us one step closer to safety and the possibility of a new beginning.
From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your humanity, your compassion, and your support during our darkest hour.
With deepest gratitude,
Mohammed Meimeh with my family
