A family’s life changing obstacle
Donation protected
Hello my name is Brian. I’m fundraising for a chance to overcome an obstacle that has been affecting me ever since I was 16, and still affects me at the age of 39. That obstacle is getting my license. The obstacle comes solely from poor decisions made by me. It didn’t help that my mother was in a tragic car accident and passed when I was fourteen, and my father went to prison for life not long after. I slipped through the cracks and did not become a ward of the state, so I had no guidance or support. When I started to make poor decisions, like driving without a license and breaking the law, I ended up in prison. I had no family to help me along the way, and would have probably been resistant to the help anyway because “I had it all under control” lmbo! Well, as it turns out I didn’t. Along the way, I ended up having children, and my problems ended up being passed on to them. Finally, at the age of 39, I had a spiritual awakening. I’ve made a lot of positive changes, and I’m working on becoming a better person and a better father to my kids. I really need help with this obstacle. I am in treatment now and have made more progress in the last 4 months then I have in my entire life, due to a great shift in my state of mind. Getting my license will not only help me but will help my children as well. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this, and God bless! It will be paid forward when I can get a foundation set up for my family, but the first step to my success plan is getting my license. Also thought I should throw it in that I made my step-father the beneficiary of this whole thing, for those who might not feel safe making a donation to a person in recovery!
