A Family Is Left With A Unknown Future

My son, Blair Greer (30) was not supposed to leave us. I was not suppose to bury my son. And this was the tragedy that struck our family on July 4th, 2023. Blair was with his beloved spouse, Ashley Herrick and his 2 wonderful stepchildren; Devon (12) and Emma (10) on a family vacation to Niagara Falls. When they arrived home in his home town in Sudbury, Blair suffered 3 strokes. Immediate surgery was done to remove the two blood clots in his brain. Unfortunately this started bleeding in the brain. They rushed him back into surgery to remove a piece of his skull to relieve pressure. On July 9th, against all prayers, my son became an angel. Despite the medical professionals' best efforts, and the family's support, within 24 hours, Blair was 100% brain dead.

My son was the greatest father. Blair loved nothing more then spending quality time with his family. He was a caring young man who helped so many people. He truly was a gift sent to all of us. I cannot fill the hole in my heart that has been created by his loss. Blair was the main provider to his family. He made sure his kids participated in extracurricular activities, did well in school programs and had a safe and attentive home. Our entire family is left mapping out a future without him.

Blair was a registered organ donor and in typical Blair style, he generously saved 6 other people's lives. My husband Bruce Greer, loses his best friend. His brothers Bryson and Braedon Greer have lost their fun-loving sibling that always protected them. His kind spirit is missed immensely. Blair was such a hands on dad. His family was everything to him.

With such a sudden tragedy, we are hoping the community will help our family in this time of need. We can't say we prepared for this day. He was just a young man mapping out a life that truly made him happy.

Any monetary donation will directly go to his family; Ashley, Devon and Emma. With all the costs that pile up, especially with the state of the economy, the last thing I want for my family is to stress about the future right now. We cannot begin to express what this is like to ask for help, but we just do not know what to do.
