Our sweet baby girl, Delaney Logan, is finally here. ❤️
The road to getting her here has been a lot more difficult than we ever imagined. Shyanne’s pregnancy became high-risk, and she was eventually put on bed rest and taken out of work because of gestational hypertension and concerns for both her and Delaney. We spent countless appointments going back and forth to the OB, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) preparing for Delaney’s arrival.
During pregnancy, we also learned that Delaney had an incomplete unilateral cleft lip. While we knew this would mean additional appointments and care after she was born, nothing could have prepared us for everything that came with her arrival.
Shyanne ended up going through 34 hours of labor before needing an emergency C-section to bring Delaney safely into the world. We are incredibly grateful that they are both here and recovering, but we are now facing a whole new chapter of medical expenses.
Because of Delaney’s cleft, she will need ongoing appointments and care through CHOA and the craniofacial team, including appointments with specialists and eventually treatment related to her cleft. CHOA is about a two-hour drive each way from our home, so there will also be significant travel expenses as we make these trips for her care.
At the same time, Shyanne is recovering from major surgery and is unable to work, while I recently lost my job unexpectedly. The timing has left us in a really difficult financial situation at the exact time when our focus needs to be on Shyanne recovering and making sure Delaney gets everything she needs.
We never expected to be asking for help like this, and honestly, it is difficult for us to put our situation out there. But we are doing everything we can to put our pride aside and make sure our daughter has access to the care she needs.
Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to our family. Donations will help with Delaney’s medical expenses, appointments, travel to CHOA, supplies, and the unexpected costs that have come with her birth and ongoing care.
If you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing Delaney’s story means more to us than you know.
Thank you for loving our little girl and supporting our family through this unexpected chapter. ❤️
