Hi my name is Journey and I am very close to this family.
On January 3, our friends' lives were changed forever in a serious motor vehicle accident. In a single moment, a loving family was thrust into a nightmare no one is ever prepared for.
Right now, their only focus should be healing and being together-but the reality of mounting expenses makes that incredibly difficult.
Gabby, a bright and wonderful 6-year-old, was airlifted to BC Children's Hospital with:
Fluid in her stomach and abdomen
A broken neck
A brain bleed
She is currently sedated, and doctors won't know the full extent of her injuries until she wakes up. Her recovery timeline is unknown, and every hour is filled with worry, hope, and prayer.
Mindy, Gabby's mom, was also airlifted to Vancouver she will need
A specialized surgeon to repair both wrists if she ever wants full use of her hands again
Surgery on her right leg
Her recovery is estimated at 6-8
months.
Will, Gabby's dad, suffered a broken thigh bone and will need:
A rod placed in his right leg
His recovery is estimated at 6-9
months.
While this family fights to recover, everyday life does not pause.
This fundraiser is to help cover:
Mortgage payments
Household bills
Hotel and accommodation costs, so Gabby is never alone during this terrifying time
Basic living expenses while Mindy and Will are unable to work
No parent should have to choose between being at their child's bedside and paying their mortgage.
Gabby is the kind of child who lights up a room. She's loved deeply by her parents and by everyone who knows her. Right now, she is fighting quietly in a hospital bed, surrounded by machines instead of toys.
Mindy and Will are facing months of surgeries, pain, and uncertainty-while trying to stay strong for their little girl.
Your support gives them one priceless gift: the ability to focus on healing, not financial survival.
If you are able to donate, please know that every dollar truly matters.
If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as powerful.
Let's come together to lift this burden.
