A Family Battling Two Cancers: Bryce Buckley SNT

In November 2018, our brother Bryce was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a devastating brain cancer, at just 37 years old. After undergoing surgery and intensive treatment, Bryce defied the odds and was recovering well, even playing basketball and lifting weights again. But in 2022, the tumor returned. After a surgery to attempt to remove the tumor, he got an infection in his skull that has since severely weakened him and impacted his health. What remains of the tumor can no longer be removed. Despite this, Bryce remains determined and resilient, but the journey is far from over.

As if this trial wasn’t enough, in December 2024, Bryce’s son, Eli, was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma. Now, this family of seven is facing the unimaginable—two family members battling cancer at the same time. Bryce has been unable to work since February 2024, and his wife Claudia is balancing the care of their children (ages 14 to 4) with the intense medical needs of both her husband and son, making countless trips to the hospital for treatment (just short of 10,000 miles in 2024 alone).

We are asking for your help. While medical and Supplemental Security Income ensures basic needs are met as well as most medical bills, the programs meet nothing but the basic needs. Your donation will go directly into a special needs trust that has been established (so as to not impact their Medicaid or other benefits) and will be used for things such as housing, daily living costs, travel expenses, special training and therapy, and support their efforts to maintain maximum independence.
