My good friends, Alexus and Lexus Gordon, are in need of our communities support. The two have been together for three years. Lexus is a loving husband, father of two (1.5 years old and 3 months old), an amazing step father of two (7 years old and 5 years old), an uncle, brother and friend. He is a former IFBB Pro (Bodybuilder) and worked as a journey man for CECO Construction. Lexus was diagnosed with a rare cancer called N.U.T Carcinoma stemming from the great articular nerve and grew through the Paratoid glands and salivary glands.
Lexus went to L&M in November of 2022 to be turned away with antibiotics and an MRI they did not read properly. In January of 2023 he went to UConn to do a biopsy which confirmed the cancer in February of 2023. Lexus has gone through multiple surgeries in an attempt to resolve the cancer. He had his first surgery on February 20th, while his wife was in labor, (head and neck dissection of 10cm parotid tumor). He had a second surgery on April 26th to remove another tumor, his left main facial nerve, his jugular, ear drum and ear canal, a left left temporal bone resection to which they removed muscle from his upper leg to reconstruct some nerves and fill the gap of the base of his skull from where they drilled.
He began chemo at UConn the first week of June and Proton Radiation started June 8th to July 27th in New York City, at New York Proton Center.
The family rents a home in Eastern CT but will need to uproot to rentals or hotels in NYC with the entire family during Lexus' treatment. Alexus is a stay at home mom and they are struggling to make ends meet as it is. We are hoping that with the community’s support, we can raise enough money to alleviate some of the family’s cost of living stress, and allow them to focus on Lexus’ treatment and spending time together as a loving family.
This is a freightening time for Lexus and his family as they try to stay positive and hopeful. Please considering contributing to their difficult journey and some peace of mind.
About N.U.T. Carcinoma: It is widely under diagnosed due to lack of awareness. It is a form of rare cancer that can grow anywhere in the body, usually the head, neck, or lungs. It grows from squamous cells in the body, which are the cells that make up the skin and the lining of some organs, like the lungs and stomach. It is usually aggressive and fast growing.
