Hello, My name is Willem Rohwer and I'm raising funds to attend the Philadelphia International Music Festival in July 2023.

I have been playing bass since I was 5 years old.

For as long as I can remember, music has been an important part of my life. I grew up with my father as my first teacher and then his student, Jacob Warren, became my teacher.

I went on to attend summer camps like Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and had the privilege of performing in the Michigan All-State Orchestra for several years.

That's my older brother in this picture who was also in the Michigan All-State Orchestra. So as you can see, I come from a family of musicians.

We then moved to a small rural town in Colorado, where the options for extracurricular music were not as readily available although I was able to be a part of the Colorado All-State Orchestra which I was grateful for.

I am now a junior in high school and thinking about going into music, and preparing for college applications and auditions. Attending the Philadelphia International Music Festival will give me access to high-level training and preparation for college auditions as well as expose me to a community of other students that love music as much as I do. I'll receive orchestra training, lessons, and classes on audition preparation. The funds I raise will be used to help support my tuition fees at PIMF.
