A Double Amputee and his Wife need Help

We are creating this GoFundMe for our friends Mallory and James Dority who are in need due to a medical situation that finds themselves in an uncertain position.

On Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, being their 11th anniversary, James was rushed to hospital with extreme pain in both of his feet and was diagnosed with a severe pyogenic infection along with osteomyelitis. The doctors ran batteries of tests to stem the infection and save his feet. James was then informed that there was a less than 5% chance to save them. 6 days later the decision was made by James in consultation with the orthopaedic surgeon to amputate both of his feet.

James is now facing months of hospitalization and rehabilitation in order to learn how to function in a normal environment and walk again. James has the right attitude and willpower to get through this and back on his new feet.

In the meantime, Mallory is left with the unenviable task of having to find new, accessible accommodation, pack and move all their belongings while still trying to give James the support he needs to be successful in his recovery. They are facing many expenses such as prosthesis, a wheelchair, obtaining a modified vehicle as well as many more that are not covered by their insurance nor by the government.
