My name is Courtney Newman and I am raising funds for a documentary on the life of legendary entertainer Buddy Greco

My producing partner is an Academy Award nominated producer, Joy Ryan.

There was a moment .. a perfect moment in time …..and place … Las Vegas … the Sands Lounge … 1963 !!

Life began at midnight and didn’t stop swinging until sunrise ! Booze was the gasoline , music the spark …. Entertainers were kings … even the president looked like a movie star , and acted like one !

To be Buddy Greco in that moment .. the top guy at the top lounge , gold records , tv shows and a place in the rat pack was to be the perfect thing at that moment !

But , a perfect moment can never last and can never be repeated and the struggle to try and do so can destroy you .

Everything is lined up just right for everlasting stardom . A wrong step, a twist of fate, a bad temper or a moment in history and its gone forever. Destined to spend the rest of your life trying to get it back , you never see the admiration and success that is right in front of you !

This is the story of the life and career of Buddy Greco !

From his start as a child prodigy at age 8 in the legendary talent breeding ground of South Philly , his big break with the king of swing , Benny Goodman to his rise to almost the top of the showbiz ladder , we will examine the talent that almost got him there and the obstacles that kept him from that final rung . Obstacles of his own doing and those in history that were beyond his control .

Along the way we will go with Buddy on a journey thru the golden age of television variety shows, top nightclubs around the world and gold records .

Making stops for a command performance with the Beatles for the Queen of England , an infamous weekend at the Cal-Neva Lodge with Marilyn Monroe , Sinatra , Bobby Kennedy and Sam Giancana, , the arrival of Elvis and the Beatles which was a one two punch to the careers of many great performers , six wives and too many affairs with too many woman both famous and infamous .

We will see many other bumps in the road from Buddy’s perfect pitch and perfectionism, his well known temper and his tremendous insecurities that all began with a mother who was cold and unloving . We will examine the life and career of a man who was always completely at ease on stage but never comfortable off .

Thru it all we will look at a time when entertainers actually entertained live in front of an audience . When it was nothing for one great performer to hop up on stage and do an impromptu act with another. A golden age of entertainment which will never be seen again .
