Documentary Film to Inspire Empathy and Dialogue

As a woman over 60, it's unusual to find a new passion. Filmmaking is a thrilling process, and my current goal is to have the documentary I made seen by others and to inspire conversation about how we can collectively believe a better world for all of us is possible.

I met Guillermo Sainz in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the spring of 2024 through an international exchange program. Guille is from Bolivia, and we decided to tell the story of a Bolivian cultural festival called Alasitas and explore the festivals' theme of abundance and prosperity. From an intercultural lens we listen to a diverse group of people talk about what they wish for. We also observe the power of the collective desire for change.

My goal for this movie is to facilitate empathy and inspire community conversation among friends and strangers. More than ever, we need deep conversations about what we care about.

Your donation will fund the distribution of the film. It needs to be seen in order to generate the conversation! Fees for film festival submissions average $50 to $100 each and we want to submit to at least 100 festivals and have the documentary accepted into a few of them (even the rejections need to be paid for!).

Thank you for supporting the power of film to make a difference in our world.
