Help an English teacher and family evacuate Gaza

My name is Josh Levinger and I have run two fundraisers with Fadi Skaik, raising over $4000 in aid for his family. Their apartment in Gaza City has been destroyed, and are currently enduring desperate and unbearable conditions in Rafah.

Despite facing numerous challenges, including being displaced five times and narrowly escaping fires over a dozen times, Fadi, currently living in a tent, remains unwavering in his commitment to positively impact the lives of others.

Fadi dedicates his days to volunteering at a local shelter, where he assists over 40,000 displaced Palestinians. Affectionately known as "the Father of the Needy", Fadi remains compassionate and dedicated to community service, despite his own hardship.

This resilience is inspiring, but the constant threats of violence and dire living conditions have taken a toll on Fadi's family, especially his two young children who are grappling with trauma.

Our Connection

We will collect funds in the United States and transfer them to Gaza via Western Union. We have done this successfully before, when we raised funds for his father's shoe shop in 2018, and to repair his apartment which was destroyed by bombings in 2020.

I have known Fadi since 2009, when he wrote compelling first-person testimony about the impact of war on his family for a project I organized called VirtualGaza, in association with the MIT Media Lab and Harvard. Now 15 years later, the war has continued and I must ask for your help once again.
