A Dip A Day In December 2021

Hi , my name is Mark Elliott and I will be taking on the challenge of A Dip A Day In December 2021. Every day in December, Hail, Rain or snow I will be getting into the chilly waters around Sligo and Leitrim in just a pair of shorts and a swim hat. I won't be doing this alone as there will be someone with me each day and people are welcome to come along as we take the plunge at local beaches and lakes. Each day we will log our progress, sharing via social media our time spent in the water, the temperature of the water and photos of all those taking part. The aim of this event is to create much needed funds and awareness for the tremendous North West STOP Suicide Prevention. Suicide has unfortunately become far too common in our society and this organisation are at forefront in providing support to those in need of counselling almost immediately.

 

In the first 6 months of 2021 North West STOP have funded 630 counselling sessions to those seeking help. With counsellors available in Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo, West Cavan, Donegal, Roscommon and Longford they are committed to putting clients in touch with counsellors as fast as possible and FREE OF CHARGE!!!

 

Many of their clients have attempted to seek help elsewhere and have either been placed on long waiting lists or have not have their needs met.

 

Counselling is provided to those who are feeling suicidal or have been bereaved by suicide.
