Our family is heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected passing of Linda Lockwood, who left us far too soon after a rapid and devastating battle with lung cancer. Her loss came quickly, giving our family little time to prepare emotionally or financially.

Linda was the quiet heart of our family — a devoted historian of our lineage, the one who kept memories alive, and the person who never stopped rooting for those she loved. She will be laid to rest next to generations of Lockwoods, including her beloved brothers, Roy and David, and her father, Jesse Harold Lockwood. Honoring her with the burial she deserves is deeply important to all of us.

Why We Are Asking for Help

The total cost of Linda’s funeral and burial is $11,000. Her life insurance unexpectedly covered only $3,000, leaving a remaining balance that her family simply cannot shoulder alone.

Linda’s husband, Dale, has been unable to work for several years due to serious on-the-job injuries, degenerative bone disease, and other chronic health challenges. He survives on a limited Social Security income and is facing this loss while also navigating financial hardship. We are still waiting to learn what the life insurance payout will be, but we expect it to be small — and Linda would never have wanted Dale to be burdened with a large percentage of these costs.

We are asking for $8,000 to cover the remaining funeral expenses so that Linda can be laid to rest with dignity and without placing a heavy financial strain on those she loved most.
