Early Thursday morning, September 18, a five-alarm fire tore through the building that housed our ART YARD BKLYN studio, storage, and archives. The roof collapsed. We lost everything inside—artworks, supplies, tools, furniture, exhibition materials, kitchen items, and years of documentation.
We are devastated. But we’re still here—and moving forward.
With the support of our community, we’ve already reached 58% of our fundraising goal. Donations are helping us begin to rebuild and continue our programs. If you’re able to contribute—or share this with others—we’d be so grateful.
We’ve secured a temporary studio at 180 Franklin Avenue and have resumed Advanced Studio sessions. Our school-based Art Matters program continues as well. We’ve also set up an Amazon Wish List to replace essential supplies.
This loss is deep. But ART YARD has never just been a space—it’s a shared commitment to creativity, care, and community. That part is unshaken.
Thank you for standing with us.
