For anyone that knows the heart and soul of Physical Therapy, it’s Ken Williams. He has been a Physical Therapist for many decades. There are so many words to describe a person like Ken. He is by far the most compassionate, trustworthy, loyal, dependable, genuine, heart of gold, give the shirt off his back, patient focused, caring person you’ll ever meet in one’s life time. He has been a mentor to many PTs, PTAs, OTs and COTAs over his years working in the hospital setting through his career, including ICU, CCU, Neuro ICU, Sub-Acute/TCU, And Rehab. He’s adaptable to all venues in the therapy world but what makes Ken so special, is his devotion to patient care and how he cares for every single patient and family member as if they were his own family. Ken is thorough with his assessments and makes his patients feel safe as his knowledge and patient education improves their trust in his abilities to provide quality care.
Today, our department received some devastating news that left every coworker speechless and in tears. After dedicating 14 outstanding years at our hospital, to serve the better good of his community and provide quality care to every patient he touched, Ken’s position was terminated today due our company’s budget cuts.
We love Ken as if he were our own family. He was given no notice and termination was effective immediately. We’re grieving for his well being as he’s two years from retirement himself at the age of 63 and we fear he will now have difficulty finding a job as he’ll be over qualified and he enjoys what he does for a living.
Please consider donating to help Ken stay on his feet until he figures out what he’s going to do from here. Our hearts are moaning and this is the least we could do to show our love and support for all he has done for each and everyone of us that has worked with him.
Thank you sincerely!
