Hi, My name is Joanne Mead. Terry and are childhood friends. I am asking for help to relieve some of the financial and emotional strain she and her family are facing right now.
On February 4, 2025, Terry's life changed forever. It was the same day her father passed away and the day she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer that had already spread to her lungs.
She completed six rounds of chemotherapy in London, Ont. While it helped shrink the tumors in her lungs slightly, it did not reduce the ovarian mass. Around the same time, her husband Ron was also diagnosed with prostate cancer, so they were facing cancer together.
After chemo, she began IV Vitamin C and mistletoe infusions, which helped keep her CA-125 levels low and the cancer stable. In September the mass ruptured and she had to have an emergency hysterectomy. Terry later joined a clinical trial in Toronto, but had to stop her natural treatments. During that time the cancer began growing again, and two small spots appeared on her liver. She was taken out of the trial.
Since restarting Vitamin C, mistletoe, and hyperthermia treatments, her CA-125 levels have already dropped in half, giving her hope.
Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by insurance. The cost is $675/week, and with Ron taking off time from work for his treatments and to support his wife, as well Terry unable to work the financial strain is heavy.
Any support will help Terry continue these treatments and keep fighting. Thank you for your kindness and support. Even if you can not donate, sharing her story would mean the world to them.
Terry and Ron are good, kind people, and would never ask for assistance unless they really had no other choice.
