A Daughters Love- A New Power Wheelchair for Tarita

Hello everyone,

My name is Ameera, and I am fundraising for my incredible mum, Tarita. She has been living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 29 years. My mum has fought this disease every day of her life, even as the disease has progressed. Those of you who know my mum closely, you may know her motto “I have MS, MS doesn’t have me”. Despite the daily challenges this illness brings, my mum continues to inspire everyone around her with her strength, humor, and resilience.

My mum has always been the most generous and kind-hearted person I know. She has spent her life giving to others—whether it was through her time, her support, or simply her caring nature. My mum continues to inspire me with her strength, positivity, and the love she shares with everyone around her.

My mum even took her experience living with MS and created something positive, starting her very own inclusive Travel Business. Over the years my mum has been able to allow individuals with chronic diseases, terminal illnesses and physical disabilities an opportunity to see the world in ways they may never have been able to before. She has also been a staunch advocate for global accessibility and rights for individuals with disabilities.

This year, Mum will be moving into a long-term care facility where she can receive the full support she needs. While this is an emotional and ultimately positive step, it also comes with new challenges. One of the most important things she needs is a power wheelchair. This will allow her to keep her independence, move around comfortably, and stay engaged in activities and social connections within her new home.

Unfortunately, power wheelchairs are very expensive, and not all of the costs are covered. That’s why I am reaching out for help.

Your donation will go directly toward purchasing the wheelchair and ensuring Mum has the mobility, comfort, and dignity she deserves. Every contribution—no matter the size—will make a difference in her quality of life.

If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with friends, family, or on social media would mean the world to us.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us give Mum the freedom and independence she needs and deserves in this next chapter of her life.

With gratitude,
Ameera
