Hello ❤️ my name is Journey Callis and I’m writing this with a heavy heart. On August 11th, I lost my mom VERY unexpectedly at just 47 years old to a brain aneurysm. She was my best friend and my biggest supporter. She was my whole world, and living without her feels impossible.
If you know me, you know I’ve suffered a tremendous amount of loss and have NEVER asked for a handout! But for my mother, pride can’t get in the way!
Right now, I’m not only grieving her loss but also facing the reality of losing her home I desperately want to keep and take over myself! This house holds all of her memories—her laughter in the kitchen, the smell of her favorite candles, the place where we loved together (she has two grandbabies that love this house!). The thought of losing it so soon after losing her feels unbearable.
I’m doing everything I can to keep her home, but with just my income and with funeral expenses all falling SOLELY on me, I absolutely do not have it to pay between paying for her funeral and paying my own bills while trying to raise my son.
I need help covering HER past [rent/utilities/bills] so I can hold on/move into the one place that still feels like “her.”
without falling behind on her funeral costs.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward keeping our home and giving me a chance to heal without the fear of losing everything at once. (I am more than happy to provide receipts and any documents necessary to show exactly what it is spent on!)
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page means the world, too.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me carry on in my mom’s memory. ❤️
I’ve never asked for anything in my life. I’ve always worked hard for what I got, but I’m at a crossroads with nowhere to go! So this is me begging my community to please give me a chance to grieve and keep her home for me and her grandbabies. I can promise you I WILL return the favor when I am able to get in a good spot to do so! Just asking for help is killing me, but losing that house would kill me more.
My mom worked HARD my entire life 16 years as a manger at McDonalds. 10 Years as a Manger for Circle K my mother never asked anyone for any kind of help! She worked HARD for everything she ever wanted. She would be furious I’m even making this right now but I refuse I can’t let her lose what I watched her spend her entire life trying to build!
Again, thank you so much. ❤️
