Update: 10/15/25
Thanks to some amazing people, we have secured flights to and from California for my daughter and I, and a rental car. We are so grateful for the love and support you have all given.
My mom is still in ICU and not much has changed. She does have an upcoming surgery so all your prayers, love and support are appreciated. We will update once we have more info and arrive to California. Thank you all again for the donations and support.
My mom’s been in the ICU since Sunday — we’re doing everything we can to reach her before she wakes up.
Help Us Be With My Mom After Her Motorcycle Accident. Every second matters when someone you love is fighting to heal.
A few days ago, my mom was in a terrible motorcycle accident in California. She was riding as a passenger with her friend when an SUV suddenly made a U-turn in front of them, causing them to T-bone the vehicle.
Both my mom and her friend were rushed to the hospital in critical condition and remain in the ICU with serious injuries. She has already undergone multiple surgeries and is still not out of the woods yet.
I didn’t even learn about the accident until yesterday, when the police finally located my contact information. She had been in the hospital since Sunday morning — fighting for her life.
My daughter and I are doing everything we can to get to Bakersfield to be with her — to hold her hand, talk to her, and remind her she has to keep fighting. The thought of her waking up and not being there is unbearable.
Unfortunately, the cost of getting there is overwhelming. The least expensive flights arrive after ICU visiting hours, which means to reach her in time to see her the same day costs between $700–$800 per person round-trip — and that’s with just a carry-on bag and a few basic essentials.
The funds raised will help cover:
• ✈️ Round-trip airfare for me and my daughter
• Rental car for local travel
• Budget hotel near the hospital
• Meals during our stay
• Partial income replacement for missed work days
While I do have some funds available, this trip will max out my credit card and leave us without a safety net — and I may need to return again soon as her recovery will be long and uncertain.
Even the smallest contribution helps bring us one step closer to her bedside. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing this page, sending prayers, or offering any leads on discounted travel or lodging. Every act of kindness truly helps.
Please, if you drive — look twice for motorcyclists. One distracted moment can change everything.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us reach her, and for keeping her in your thoughts as she continues to fight.
Thank you,
— Manyi & Family
