My name is Billy Rugh and I proudly run the dance program at Eliot Arts Magnet and Conservatory in Altadena. On Wednesday, January 8th, we watched our beloved school burn down and have since been placed in a temporary space to continue offering high-quality arts education to our over 400 Title 1 students while we patiently await Eliot's rebuilding.
Our new dance studio space at McKinley School - while large and bright - does not have mirrors, a dance floor, or ballet barres. With your help and support, we can transform this space into a functional dance studio for my fierce dance students - so many of whom have been displaced by the Eaton fire. Help me give my hard-working, resilient and talented young dancers a place to move through this moment.
All funds will go toward covering the purchase and install of the following items:
- Rolling glassless mirrors
- Dance Floor
- Ballet Barres
