I am fundraising to help my husband be the dad he has always wanted to be and buy him the necessary equpiment to do that as independently as possible.

On the 10th of February our lives changed when my husband Liam suffered a spontaneous epidural hematoma, which crushed his spinal cord between the T3 and T5 vertebrae, leaving him paralysed from the top of the chest down. That night he had a surgery to drain the blood from his spine, however this was a preventative measure and he has not regained any function.

Around a week after this, I found out I was pregnant with a very wanted rainbow baby after a miscarriage in December, which was a complete miracle as due to his paralysis it is unlikely we will be able to have children naturally again.

I am now almost 25 weeks with our son and the pregnancy is going well, however navigating life after Liams recent discharge has been much harder than expected.

Liam was self employed at the time of injury and I am a teacher, however with just my wage alone it is not possible to fund a lot of the equpiment he will need to be independent as a father.

Liam is the kindest, best man i could ever have imagined having the pleasure of marrying. He is going to make the most fantastic father to our little boy which is why I am fundraising. The fundraiser money will go to a power attatchement which will allow Liam to go off of pavement, up steep hills and protect his shoulders. It will likely allow him to do simple things like join in on walks with the family, and go places more independently.

We are looking at trirides.

It will also help fund offroad wheels to go on woodland walks, accessible baby equpiment and hopefully access to a gym that is tailored to disabilities such as his.
