A Cure For Elizabeth Layton
Donation protected
I have been blessed with an amazing daughter her name is Elizabeth Layton. She’s 24 years old and was born a premature twin. She has a great heart caring heart for others. She has taught so many of us what it means to be strong. The reason I need to raise money for her is because she was born with several birth defects. She was born different and no doctor has ever been able to tell me why. She has under gone 19 surgeries the first at 4 months old. She did very well from the age of 18 until 22 and she worked while she could. All she has ever asked for is some what of a normal life. She has trouble breathing and eating because her trachea collapses. Her health issues are very rear and complicated and the doctors have done an amazing job and tried there best. I thank them very much for everything they’ve done for my daughter. Her doctors here said they have run out of options to help her and there’s nothing more they can do except treat her symptoms. She has a stint currently holding her airway open but it is only a temporary solution and it has its own set of complications. It causes infections, scarred tissue and monthly procedures to clean the phlegm her body produces because it’s a foreign body. It becomes clogged and she can’t move air and has to use a bi-pap machine in the hospital . Became the small ones that are for use at home are not strong enough. The scarred tissue has to be frozen off before it grows to much and blocks her airway. Her pulmonologist is afraid that at some point her trachea will be to scared to be reconstructed. He said that he could recommend a hospital in Cincinnati where they could do a 3D stint and or possibly reconstruction but that’s more money than I have. Right now I’ve applied first at or disability for her and she’s been denied 3 times. Her current medical bills are 15,000 and that’s after medical insurance has paid its part . I haven’t received all of the bills yet because her hospital stays have because more frequent and longer. Her longest hospital stay was 4 months her shortest is 3 weeks. I greatly appreciate any help you can give no amount is to small. Thank you for any help you can give or just for sharing her story it would make a great difference. Times are difficult right now for everyone so we are very grateful for your generosity and kindness ❤️
