A cura da Anabela

O meu nome é Liliana e tenho a sorte de ser filha do ser mais maravilhoso que conheço. A minha mãe chama-se Anabela tem 61 anos e é doente oncológica com metástases no fígado e no pulmão. A minha mãe é casada, tem 2 filhos e 3 netinhos maravilhosos, dois deles meus filhos, bem pequenos ainda a precisar do colinho e do amor da avó. A minha mãe acrescenta alegria diária a todos os que a rodeiam e queremos que ela nos acompanhe ainda por muitos anos. A nossa “velhinha” como a chamamos é o nosso porto de abrigo.

Somos uma família unida e com fé apesar de todas as adversidades que a vida nos tem dado. Se tudo na vida fosse fácil não existiria aquela força chamada fé! E é com fé que acordo todos os dias, a pensar que a solução vai aparecer e que Deus estará sempre no comando da vida.

Este pedido de ajuda para a minha mãe surge porque o serviço de oncologia do Hospital de Faro já não tem mais tratamento para” oferecer “para a cura da minha mãe e nós, família, recusamo-nos a aceitar que só por não termos capacidade financeira ela não possa tentar a sua “CURA”. Foi-me dito que não existiriam mais opções de tratamento no serviço público e que assim a esperança de vida seria curta ☹.

Por indicação da médica que a acompanha no serviço de oncologia do Hospital de Faro, fomos pedir uma 2ª opinião. Recorremos à Fundação Champalimaud em Lisboa que tem uma grande taxa de sucesso na recuperação da doença oncológica.

No passado dia 8 de novembro a minha mãe fez 3 TAC com contraste na Fundação Champalimaud, não financiado pelo estado. Foi por nós família feito um grande esforço financeiro para fazer face a esta despesa de 370,00€. O médico com quem a minha mãe teve consulta, Dr. Gil Gonçalves referiu existir esperança de cura da doença caso seja feita cirurgia para remover a parte afetada. Esta Hepatectomia parcial na Fundação Champalimaud tem o valor médio de 17.500€ acrescido de exames e internamento, sendo esse o motivo deste pedido de ajuda. Preve-se que seja feita a cirurgia ainda este mês de Novembro, daqui 8 a 15 dias.

A primeira fase seria tratar o fígado e posteriormente o pulmão. A vida é uma dádiva e temos de lutar com todas as nossas forças porque a minha mãe merece e ainda tem muito para viver.

 

Historial:

 

Em fevereiro de 2017, estando eu gravida de 3 meses acompanhei a minha mãe para fazer uma colonoscopia porque ela tinha muitas perdas de sangue nas fezes. Recebemos de imediato o resultado e com uma frieza verbal que nunca tinha sentido. “a senhora tem um tumor maligno, tem de ser operada e vai usar um saquinho para toda a vida”, foi assim, textual como vos escrevo. O mundo desabou nesse dia, foi dada uma sentença, dolorosa para toda a família. Posteriormente em consulta fomos informados que a minha mãe tinha um tumor no recto, estádio IV.

Em março de 2017 a minha mãe começou a fazer radioterapia e quimioterapia tendo sido submetida a cirurgia em 01/08/2017. Acompanhei todos os momentos…até lhe consegui dar um beijinho antes da cirurgia e logo depois. Após a cirurgia, depois de ver que ela estava bem e fora de perigo, rebentaram-me as águas enquanto ia buscar um saco de vómito para a minha mãe lá no hospital, foi um dia atribulado e o príncipe Santiago nasceu no dia 02/08/2017. Depois de tanta angústia tivemos um momento de alegria e nascia o menino da vovó. O nome foi escolhido por ela. Uma avó com um coração do tamanho do mundo, debilitada pela cirurgia ainda pediu para ir ver o netinho e foi.

Tudo parecia ter ficado bem, após a cirurgia ainda foram feitos alguns ciclos de quimioterapia, mas o pior parecia ter terminado. Em abril ou maio de 2018, através dos exames de rotina, verificou-se que o tumor havia metastizado para o fígado e para o pulmão. Desde aí começou com sessões de quimioterapia de 21 em 21 dias e atualmente de 14 em 14 dias, o corpo tem sofrido grandes efeitos secundários, perda de peso acentuada, apetite, feridas, queda de cabelo, instabilidade emocional, mas mesmo assim temos a esperança e onde existe esperança não pode existir medo.

My name is Liliana and I am lucky to be the daughter of the most wonderful person I know. My mother's name is Anabela, she is 61 years old, and she is an oncology patient with metastases in her liver and lung. My mother is married, has 2 children and 3 wonderful grandchildren, two of them my children, very young and still in need of their grandmother's love. My mother adds daily joy to all those around her and we want her to be with us for many years to come. Our "little old lady" as we call her is our safe haven.
We are a united family with faith despite all the adversities that life has given us. If everything in life were easy there wouldn't be that force called faith! And it is with faith that I wake up every day, thinking that the solution will appear and that God will always be in charge of life.
This request for help for my mother arises because the oncology service at Faro Hospital no longer has any treatment to "offer" for my mother's cure, and we, the family, refuse to accept that just because we can't afford it, she can't try her "CURE". I was told that there would be no more treatment options in the public service and thus her life expectancy would be short ☹.
On the advice of the doctor who accompanies her in the oncology service of the Faro Hospital, we went to ask for a 2nd opinion. We turned to the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon which has a high success rate in recovering from oncological disease.
Last November 8 my mother had 3 CT scans with contrast at the Champalimaud Foundation, which is not funded by the state. We, the family, made a great financial effort to cover this expense of 370.00€. The doctor with whom my mother had a consultation, Dr. Gil Gonçalves mentioned that there is hope for a cure if surgery is performed to remove the affected part. This partial hepatectomy at the Champalimaud Foundation costs an average of 17,500€ plus exams and hospitalization, which is the reason for this request for help. The surgery is expected to be performed this November, 8 to 15 days from now.
The first phase would be to treat the liver and then the lung. Life is a gift and we have to fight with all our strength because my mother deserves it and still has a lot to live for.

History:

In February 2017, being 3 months pregnant I accompanied my mother for a colonoscopy because she had a lot of blood loss in her stool. We immediately received the result and with a verbal coldness I had never felt before. "you have a malignant tumor, you have to be operated on and you will wear a baggie for life", that was it, verbatim as I write to you. The world came crashing down that day, a sentence was given, painful for the whole family. Later in consultation we were informed that my mother had a tumor in her rectum, stage IV.
In March 2017 my mother started radiotherapy and chemotherapy having undergone surgery on 01/08/2017. I followed every moment...I even got to give her a little kiss before surgery and right after. After the surgery, after seeing that she was fine and out of danger, my water broke while I was getting a barf bag for my mom back at the hospital, it was a busy day and Prince Santiago was born on 08/02/2017. After so much anguish we had a moment of joy and Grandma's baby boy was born. The name was chosen by her. A grandmother with a heart the size of the world, debilitated by surgery still asked to go see her grandson and she did.
Everything seemed to be fine, after the surgery there were still a few cycles of chemotherapy, but the worst seemed to be over. In April or May 2018, through routine tests, it was found that the tumor had metastasized to the liver and lung. Since then started with chemotherapy sessions every 21 days and currently every 14 days, the body has suffered major side effects, marked weight loss, appetite, sores, hair loss, emotional instability, but still we have hope and where there is hope there can be no fear.
I appeal to all of you for this possibility to help/contribute, where every € that you can contribute will make all the difference. We have to be for each other, today for my mother, tomorrow for any one of you.
