A Cup of Hope for Thérrarium

Hi. My name is Robyn Stroll, and I am the owner of Thésaurus Thérrarium, a cozy little geeky teahouse in the heart of Verdun, Montreal. We have had so many wonderful successes, and met so many wonderful people, but for a while now, we’ve struggled financially to the point of considering whether or not we may need to close permanently.

We love our community, and we love that folk enjoy gathering in our space. We serve excellent food that gets rave reviews time and time again. We host fun events, like our monthly High Teas, book club, and trivia nights. We have board games for people to play while enjoying a cup of tea and a scone, and we love to see when perfect strangers meet and come together and find things in common, and make new friends. In truth, that’s the spirit of what we hope to foster: folk finding community together. After all, we’re all more alike than we are different.

That said, we are struggling hard. The cost of living has impacted us all, and we would rather spend money and time on things that make this place special, rather than constantly trying to keep up with permits, bills, repairs and such.

This is where you come in. If you can contribute, it would help us greatly. We really want to keep serving our community and our regulars to keep our teahouse alive and thriving. You can help us keep afloat and around for a long time. Your contribution could be the game-changer we've been waiting for. We love seeing our regulars, and meeting new friends, and we need your help to keep that happening. With enough support, we might even be able to get a proper sign! If you can afford to put some money toward that it would mean the world to us, but if you cannot, be certain that we understand. Bonjour, je m'appelle Robyn Stroll et je suis la propriétaire de Thésaurus Thérrarium, un petit salon de thé geek et confortable situé au cœur de Verdun, à Montréal. Nous avons connu beaucoup de succès et rencontré tant de gens merveilleux, mais depuis un temps déjà, nous nous débattons financièrement, au point de devoir nous demander si nous ne devrions pas fermer définitivement.

Nous aimons énormément notre communauté et nous apprécions que les gens aiment se retrouver dans notre espace. Notre menu nous a mérité d’incroyables commentaires à maintes reprises. Nous organisons aussi des événements amusants, comme nos High Teas mensuels, notre club de lecture et nos soirées trivia. De plus, nous avons des jeux de société auxquels les gens peuvent jouer tout en dégustant leur tasse de thé et leur scone. Voir de parfaits inconnus se rencontrer, se trouver des points communs et se faire de nouveaux ami.es est exactement l'esprit de ce que nous voulons encourager; Être un endroit où les gens se retrouvent pour construire une communauté ensemble. Après tout, nous sommes tous plus semblables que différents.

Cela dit, nous avons du mal à nous en sortir. Le coût de la vie nous a tous affectés et nous préférons consacrer de l'argent et du temps aux choses qui rendent cet endroit spécial, plutôt que d'essayer constamment de gérer les permis, les factures, les réparations, etc.

C'est là que vous intervenez. Si vous pouvez contribuer, cela nous aiderait grandement. Nous voulons vraiment continuer à servir notre communauté et nos habitués pour que notre salon de thé reste vivant et prospère. Vous pouvez nous aider à rester à flot et à rester dans les parages pendant longtemps. Votre contribution pourrait être l'élément déclencheur que nous attendions. Nous aimons voir nos habitués et rencontrer de nouveaux amis, et nous avons besoin de votre aide pour que cela continue.
