A Cowgirl Warrior: Help Kelcey Battle Endometriosis

Donation protected

From Kelcey “Over the last year, Kelcey’s health has been a true struggle. Endometriosis runs rampent in her family and, as a winner of her genetic lottery, she too has struggled with the symptoms for the majority of her adult life. The last year however, it’s become more than “just a rough day or two” and her symptoms have lent to anemia, chronic fatigue, and daily excruciating pain- to name a few.

Acknowledging that cowgirling up wasn’t cutting it anymore, we found an endometriosis specialist. Her doctor is concerned about the spread and based on the severity of her symptoms, is primarily concerned about her colon, bladder and appendix, and adenomyosis. The best course of action is surgery. This is to further assess what’s going on, as ultrasound and pelvic MRI aren’t a reliable diagnostic. It will also be to remove what endometrial tissue is there and hopefully avoid hysterectomy.

She trust this specialist. She was the first doctor with availability to see us and we have already worked through the hormone replacement tests, etc. Surgery is truly the best option with the best outcome.

Unfortunately, this specialist is an out of network doctor for our insurance plan. An in network doctor was not able to see her until June, which, can’t happen. Her coverage plan includes out of network coverage, with referral- which we have done. We have followed all of the guidelines and jumped through the hoops. Now, they are denying and delaying her request for coverage, and conveniently have “found a doctor to place me with,” the day after she already scheduled surgery. For many reasons, Kelcey is uncomfortable with this.

So Kelcey is at the point now that we have submitted all of the paperwork she can and have made every call.

Now all she and her family can do is have faith and pray. Her and her family are so thankful for their family and friends that have been standing by them so far and give thanks ahead for the prayers. Kelcey is so very grateful to her clients that have been so supportive and given her grace through this trying time.

God will prevail ❤️”
