A Conversation In Space

Wij zijn Mateo Fromont en Miles Van Driessche, twee filmstudenten van LUCA Campus Narafi, die de handen in elkaar slagen om onze laatste kortfilm te realiseren voordat we de werkwereld instappen. Voor het eerst wagen we ons aan het sciencefictiongenre, een uitdaging waar we enorm enthousiast over zijn! Omdat dit een studentenproject is, nemen we meerdere rollen op ons en delen we de verantwoordelijkheden, waaronder het schrijven, produceren en monteren van de film.

Een van de grootste risico's bij een sciencefictionfilm is dat het snel ongeloofwaardig kan overkomen als de wereld die we creëren niet realistisch aanvoelt. Om dit te vermijden, willen we investeren in sterke production design-elementen zoals set, props en kostuums. Dit vormt meteen ook onze grootste kost binnen de productie. Met jullie steun kunnen we deze visuele details verfijnen en een geloofwaardige, meeslepende film neerzetten. Jullie bijdrage helpt bij de realisatie van ons eindwerk en ondersteunt ons om met een sterk portfolio onze professionele carrière te starten.

In een wereld die langzaam uit elkaar valt, vertrekt David op een ruimtemissie, zijn vrouw en dochter achterlatend. Jarenlang leeft hij in isolatie, tot het contact met de aarde helemaal verdwijnt. Maar dan hoort hij plots weer een stem.

Deze film vertelt een intiem verhaal over menselijke verbinding in de meest extreme omstandigheden.

We are Mateo Fromont and Miles Van Driessche, two film students from LUCA Campus Narafi, joining forces to create our final short film before stepping into the professional world. For the first time, we are venturing into the science fiction genre—a challenge we are incredibly excited about! Since this is a student project, we are taking on multiple roles and sharing responsibilities, including writing, producing, and editing the film.

One of the biggest risks in a science fiction film is that it can quickly become unconvincing if the world we create doesn’t feel realistic. To avoid this, we want to invest in strong production design elements such as sets, props, and costumes. This is also the biggest expense in our production. With your support, we can refine these visual details and create a believable, immersive film. Your contribution will help us bring our graduation project to life and give us a strong portfolio as we begin our professional careers.
