A computer for Bishop Jean

Donation protected
Hello, everybody.  Deb here.

Everyone knows how very hard Jean works and how much of a challenge life has been for her over the past several years.

One of the most important tools in her life is her computer.  She is a writer, a researcher, a teacher and an online presence for many people who need an ear and a supportive word or prayer.

Jean is a private person, as many of you know.  She doesn't complain about her daily challenges.  She is a lemonade-out-of-lemons kind of person, and her deep faith assists as she negotiates the ups and downs that come along.

Today, her computer died.  This was the replacement computer that my son resurrected after her last computer died a few months back.  Given our limited resources, we make do a lot with "frankenstein" equipment for our ministry.

This was a difficult day.  We have tried several solutions, including a laptop that is very difficult for her to manage in her recuperative state. Her monitor is currently attached to the laptop.  There are so many wires running back and forth it looks like an ICU.  Her joke.

We all know that Jean is a voracious researcher.  She has a dozen tabs open at any given time.  She writes courses and classes and fiction... the keyboard is always clicking day or night.

I am asking for your help.  The newly dead computer was put together from other computers.  It has duct tape holding on one side and the start button hangs out on its cable so that a dvd driver could be fitted.  It was a sad looking thing, but it worked and she was very pleased with that fact.

Jean needs a computer for her ministry that can do more than the past few could handle.  We have tried refurbished and have played taps for several machines purchased on kijiji.  She needs a computer that is equal to the wonderful work she does.

The money for a computer of this calibre is upwards of $1000, maybe even a little more.

I am appealing for your help.  A lot of us putting in small donations could get her there in no time.

She doesn't know that I am sending out this appeal.  She was just so sad and frustrated I had to do something.

I know you all care for her.  A new computer is beyond anything she has even considered.  She thinks kijiji will come to rescue but, as we have learned, a few months down the road we'll likely be playing Taps for that one too.

Please consider a small donation towards a new, capable computer for our dear Jean.

I am very happy to send along a gift for your donation: one of my crosses, an angel, a special gift for larger donations.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that you've read this and might consider a $10 gift.

A lot of love will make this happen.  Thank you so much.
