Hi, my name is Trinity, a 30-year-old mother just trying to survive. On June 6, 2026, my worst nightmare became a reality, and my oldest son, Peter, took his last breath. He was on hospice care for 10 months, and 3 days before he died, we made the decision to move him to the hospice facility to allow the nurses and doctors to be the caregivers in his final moments, so our family could just be family. We did not expect that he was going to go so quickly when we went to the hospice facility. We thought we had more time with him. But he was tired, and he fought such a long, brave battle for 11.5 years. Peter leaves behind me(his mom), his daddy Logan, and his four siblings.

As you can imagine, this has been extremely hard on all of us. So, so hard.

Peter was the brightest light. He was my absolute best friend. I’m lost without him. This grief is so, so strong. I just can’t believe that I’m going to have to live so much of my life without him.

The first month after Peter died, we were okay financially still. We exhausted all the help that everyone generously provided. I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has helped us during this horrible time.

Last month, on July 11, Peter's daddy applied to get a second month of bills covered through a nonprofit from his work, so we don’t lose our home or our car, so we could put food on the table and have electricity in our home. We have been waiting and stressing, with back-and-forth communication all month long.

It has been intense stress.

This month we only were able to pay our rent through the help of our loved ones. We have been scraping by on the skin of our teeth, simply from our loved ones' help.

The communication truly made it seem like they would be able to cover one more month's worth of bills.

This morning they emailed him and informed him that, unfortunately, they do not offer help for bereavement time off. If he had another reason for taking time off that included a doctor's note, they would be happy to review it. And they were sorry for what we were going through.

And wow, while I’m incredibly grateful they were able to help with our bills when he took time off right before Peter died (we had a doctor's note then, from Peter’s doctor saying we needed to be with him), because I know without that help we would have been so, so much more screwed and struggling.

It felt a little bit like a slap in the face to hear that today…

I asked Peter's daddy last month to wait a little longer. I thought they were surely going to help us, and I just needed him home. I was falling apart, and I just needed a little more time to get my footing back underneath me. To get this grief under control and not feel the weight of an elephant sitting on my chest anytime I’m alone.

I feel so guilty. So incredibly guilty.

Because now we know that we aren’t going to get the help we were expecting to get. We are struggling so much, and the bills just keep stacking up.

Peter's daddy is back at work full time again.

But we are already behind on our bills.

Our rent is due tomorrow, September 1, and we can’t pay it.

Our electricity is very, very overdue. Due to the heat in AZ, they won’t just turn it off until September 9.

I did apply for electric assistance, but we are still waiting to hear back on whether we get approved or not.

Our phone bills are due.

The internet bill is due.

I wouldn’t be here asking everyone all over again if they have it in them to help us out if I felt there was any other way.

I’m feeling so helpless right now, and I don’t know what to do.

Please, if there is anything anyone can offer to help, we would greatly appreciate it.

This has been the hardest time of our whole lives. I can’t believe that this is even my real life. It feels like an absolute nightmare.

I’m so, so sad all the time, and all this stress on top of it is taking a huge toll on me.

I just want things to be easy for a little bit.

I just need to feel a little solid ground under my feet so I can find my footing.

Please, if you can help us get back on our feet this very last time, I can’t even begin to describe how grateful I am for the community that sharing Peter's story brought to me. So many of you encouraged me to do this because you truly want to help… and I just can’t fathom that so many people truly care about us.

But I know it’s true. I know you all really do care. So here I am, asking please to care big one more time!

We just need to afford our rent, and the rest we will figure out!
