Our hearts are breaking as we share that our dear friend Brittiani (“Britt”) is currently in hospice care after a hard-fought battle with Stage 4 ovarian cancer. At only 36 years old, this is something no family should ever have to face.

The first thing most people notice about Britt is her bright red hair and warm smile. But what truly stays with people is who she is. Britt has always been the kind of person who welcomes everyone into her life. We used to joke that she and her mom “collected strays,” because if you needed a tribe, an empathetic ear, or a partner in crime, Britt was always there and would bring you home to enjoy her mother’s delicious cooking.

She has a way of making people feel safe, seen, and welcome. She could be your voice of reason or your no-questions-asked accomplice. Her greatest goal in life has always been to be the best and most supportive daughter, sister, wife, and friend she could possibly be.

Britt loves reading, baking, and, most of all, her family. She has always been fiercely protective of her little sister, a tireless advocate and caretaker for her mom, and a soft and endlessly loving accomplice to her children, niece, and nephew. Even while carrying her own pain, Britt has always been the person checking to make sure everyone else was okay first.

Lightning finally struck when Britt and her husband, Robert, realized they were meant to be together. Although they had known each other since high school and had always been friends who could count on one another, they did not begin their life together until 2020. Since then, they have been each other’s constant rock through every twist and turn life has brought, expected and unexpected. Their last 5 years together have been filled with deep love, partnership, and happiness. Those who have been in their presence often describe the love and care they have for each other as something rare and unforgettable, the kind of love people hope to find for themselves one day.

Over the course of her illness, Britt faced countless appointments, treatments, hospital stays, and setbacks with incredible strength and grace. Since her diagnosis, she has carried the physical, emotional, and financial weight that comes with battling Stage 4 ovarian cancer, but she continued to fight with humor, resilience, and deep love for the people around her. After exhausting treatment options, her care has now transitioned to hospice so she can spend this time surrounded by comfort, peace, and family.

Since the beginning of Britt’s battle with Stage 4 ovarian cancer, Robert has remained by her side through every appointment, treatment, setback, and difficult moment with unwavering love and devotion.

Like many families facing cancer, Britt and Robert have been carrying not only the emotional and physical weight of this battle, but the financial strain as well. Between ongoing medical expenses, time away from work, household bills, hospice-related needs, and the difficult expenses that come with end-of-life care, the burden has been overwhelming, especially while facing so much uncertainty about the road ahead. Our hope is to help ease some of that weight so Robert can focus on what matters most right now: being by Britt’s side.
