Powerful Voices App: The People's App

Let your voice be heard!

Americas Local Civic & Political Participation App

The Powerful Voices App developed four years ago in the wake of the Philando Castile and Alton Sterling shootings.

Now, in the wake of George Floyd's murder we see the need for engaged citizens more than ever.

I built this as a platform to allow people to participate in National Call to Actions connecting them with their Federal, State and local lawmakers in an easy, efficient, and effective way.

In these last four years I have conducted research and focus groups in my local community to design an app that will help the most disadvantaged communities organize their collective voices and make a concrete impact by influencing policies that are just, fair and equitable.

However, this app development and research costs money. Until now, I've worked on this while struggling to raise capital.
Why? Because it's difficult to show "investors" a rate of return on their investment for a platform developed entirely for the greater good of society.

I firmly believe ideas like these should be supported because of the difference it will make in our communities, not in how much money it makes.

Today, this tiny, grassroots application has slowly developed into a vision of a full fledged foundation to empower Americans to participate in civic and political action and activism.
Currently the newest features in the app give people the ability to register to vote nationally, check voter status and polling places based on location, though these are only currently available in NYS.
The goal of this campaign is to add functionality to the app currently available on the Google Play Store  and Apple App Store . Some of these features I'd like to include are:

·      Searchable Resources and issue-based campaigns

·      Civic and political participation education initiatives

·      Search for electoral campaigns in your local communities

If we are able to raise funds to add these features, we will use funds to build a local campaign to assist local people in learning how to become civic and political leaders in their communities. We will provide them with:

·      Tools

·      Resources

·      Civic Education Training on how to communicate, engage and inspire their communities

These campaigns are part of our bigger picture to create a foundation providing these types of tools and resources nationwide, so we can inspire, train and equip the next leaders of this nation.

Empowering grassroots leaders allows us to break down the current system and build it back up, with people who understand that every voice matters.

Let your voice be heard.
