Hi! My name is Kelly and I'm writing on behalf of my big sister Shari.

Shari has profound and multiple disabilities, requiring 24hour care. She is loved deeply by her family, but we cannot always be present.

We are so grateful to the carers at Shari's residential home. Time and time again, members of staff have gone above the call of duty to care for Shari with the love and consideration we would give her. For example, they have remained with Shari at the hospital on occasions when she has been taken in unexpectedly. They also plan parties and manage her sometimes challenging behaviour with curiosity and compassion, understanding how vulnerable she is. They have taken the time to really get to know her and we recognise and appreciate it!

Carers in our community are so valuable, yet they rarely benefit from pay rises or big Christmas bonuses and gifts. If Shari could speak, we are certain she would thank her carers everyday.

This Christmas, we would like to be able to give each carer a little something to treat themselves. A small donation from anyone who can would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go to the carers!
