94J Giving Back

We are a group of classmates brought together by studying INSEAD MBA. It shaped our lives, and we decided to give back and improve other people's future by supporting initiatives from charitable organisations that create opportunities through education.

In Costa Rica, thousands of women from vulnerable families never finished secondary school. Because education is the single most powerful tool to close inequality gaps and foster gender equity, Fundación Tejedores de Sueños is dedicated to breaking down the socioeconomic barriers that prevent women and young girls in Costa Rica from completing their high school education ('Bachillerato').

The Foundation’s programme Juntas al Bachi allows women to prepare for their graduation exams, free of cost, on their own time and from home, with online support of university students. It provides mentorship, and resources and the motivation to persevere, not give up, and achieve the degree that gives them access to a better future.

Why It Matters

How We Can Help

The Foundation told us that it needs £5,000 to run a full campaign to involve companies in Costa Rica, but they can kickstart the project and get things moving—albeit more slowly—with £2,500.

This funding will be used to prepare marketing materials, refine the corporate target list, and pitch to these companies to secure formal partnership agreements that would help them graduate more women and at the same time increase the educational level of the company's workforce.

If we exceed our target, the additional funds will go toward financing the exams for the students.
