I never hought i would find myself in this position where i needed to ask for help but i do need your help.
So after over 20 years of performing i am only now understanding what damage my body had endured during the course of my career.
In the last 6 months i have been diagnosed with severe compression of my lower back resulting in 2 ruptured/herniated discs in my Lumbar spine.
After a 20 week physio course i am still in a considerable amount of pain and i am having dificulty sitting in any position.
I have found a relatively new non invasive surgery called Nucleoplasty by Coablation.
There are only a few specialist private hospitals worldwide that offer this incredible new technique.
This treatment has a 85% success rate at reducing the pressure from the disc on the nerves.
This will hopefully mean i will not have to have a full disc removal operation.
The estimated cost for the treatment will be between €7000-€10,000 in total.
Firstly due to Covid 19 and then my back giving up i have not been able to work for the last year and the help from the government is only just enough to cover living expenses.
If anyone i know is in a position to be able to donate any amount it would allow me to get rid of this pain and depression that i am struggling with every day of my life.
I have managed to get an apointment for this operation on the 11/02/21 as the consultant has said it is quite urgent that i get treatment before the nerves get damaged beyond repair.
