Hello,
We’d love for you to meet our sweet boy, Bello. He’s an 8-year-old American Bully who fills our lives with so much love and laughter. He enjoys playing with his toys, savoring his yummies, and spending time outside. Right now, our handsome boy is facing some significant health challenges.
Bello has been diagnosed with a heart murmur, which he was born with that has gotten worse and an enlarged heart, along with prostate issues that have been ongoing since he was 4 years old, when he had a severe case of prostatitis. His prostate is abnormally enlarged with mineralization and calcification which has recently been effecting his ability to pee. He also has had countless mast cell tumor's removed from all over his body, and 3 currently on him. The one with the biggest concern is on his left tarsus (ankle). Normally we remove them but this one for removal would require amputating his leg which would be our last resort. If the swelling in his tarsus persists, radiographs and a consult with an orthopedic surgeon will be necessary. His heart and prostate are currently his biggest concerns, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure he gets the best care possible. We’ve had to make numerous trips to the vet, including emergency visits when his prostate was giving problems and he was unable to urinate. It’s been a lot, with the emergency visits at $2,100, every check up with his oncologist requiring ultra sounds to monitor inner organs as well as prostate and MCT's, totaling to about $1,600. Bello unfortunately has to be sedated every one of these drop off check up's as well because he freaks out and is a danger to himself which makes it even more expensive than normal.
The doctors have advised us to keep up with his cardiology appointments, which are around $800. We’ve also started heart medication recommended by the cardiologist at $300 every 50 days, along with a special cardiac support diet costing $400 each month.
In the past month, we’ve already spent over $4,000 on vet consultations, appointments, emergency visits, not even factoring in his food or medications.
We love Bello more than words can express, and he’s fighting hard to stay strong for us. If you’re able to contribute—even just a little—it would go directly toward his cardiology visits, ultrasounds, medications, and other treatments that will help keep his tail wagging.
Bello is a fighter, and with your support, we know he can keep moving forward. Thank you for your kindness and for helping us give him the best chance to feel better and return to his happy, playful self.
