A Cello for Angelo's College Adventure
Donation protected
My name is Angelo Lopez. I am a cellist from Venezuela, and next fall (2025), I will be enrolling in college to study music education. The instrument I'm using right now belongs to the school I currently go to, so in order for me to continue learning, practicing, and performing music, I'll need a personal instrument.
Throughout high school, I have had the luck to try many different instruments and have experienced different qualities of instruments and their effects on the sound I make. Good quality instruments have more power, resonance, and most importantly, can portray colors while I play them. I can't find these traits in a beginner's instrument.
Simply, the technique of the player and the tool depend on one another. If the quality of the instrument is low, it holds back the potential of my technique and vice versa. But if both the technique and the tool are very good, it pushes the quality of the product to a higher level.
Music is a powerful way of expressing myself, and every expression and genre has the power to reach individuals personally. Through music, I have made bonds and built relationships with meaningful people in my life. Music is a tool that everybody can benefit from because it teaches values that can be applied to everyday life. It has taught me and still teaches me discipline and responsibility, and it has allowed me to dream and shown me the effort behind what it takes to achieve them.
Through music, I want to help others enjoy and become the best version of themselves. All the funds will go directly into the purchase of a cello to help me study music in college and beyond. Thank you for stopping to read and support my cause if you are able.
