Cody Delmasso was a man who lived life with an open heart, a fierce loyalty to his friends, and an undeniable love for his family. Born on April 13, 1982, in Odessa, Texas, Cody grew up surrounded by the spirit of community and a deep love for the game of football. As a young boy, he quickly became known for his infectious personality, his smile that could light up any room, and his natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life. It was clear from the start that Cody was a friend to everyone he met.
In high school, Cody became a part of the legacy of Permian High School’s football program. He played with dedication and passion, wearing his jersey, #44, with pride and representing the school and his hometown with honor. Whether it was on the field during a Friday night game or off the field at school events, Cody was always surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches who admired his enthusiasm and his unwavering commitment to the team.
Cody’s love for football wasn’t just about the sport. It was about the camaraderie, the bonds that were formed, and the shared moments of triumph and defeat. He knew that football was more than a game, it was a way to build lasting friendships and to show strength, perseverance, and teamwork. Cody was a true example of these qualities, earning the respect of everyone who knew him.
But what made Cody truly special wasn’t just his talent on the field, it was his generosity of spirit. He made friends wherever he went, from his childhood neighborhood in Odessa to his adult life in Lubbock. His friends were his family, and his family, especially his two daughters, Kamryn and Kylee, were his world. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing a joke, spending time with his girls and family, or simply being there to listen, Cody was the kind of person you could always count on.
Sadly, in an unexpected turn of events, Cody’s vibrant life was cut short. At just 42 years old, Cody passed away, leaving behind his two sweet girls, family , and friends who are grieving the loss of a man who touched so many lives. His family is heartbroken, and in this difficult time, they are in need of support to give Cody the memorial he deserves.
Cody’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy lives on in the stories shared, the memories made, and the love that continues to surround him. The impact Cody made on those around him cannot be measured, but his spirit will never be forgotten. His laugh, his kindness, his love for football, and his unwavering loyalty to those he cared about will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.
Now, as Cody’s family navigates this unexpected loss, they are asking for help in giving him the send-off he deserves. Funeral expenses can be overwhelming, and any support offered will help to ease the burden during this time of grief.
We remember Cody not just for his love of football, but for his love of life, his girls Kamryn and Kylee, his family, and for the countless ways he made every person he encountered feel special and valued. Please, if you can, contribute to helping honor the life of a man who gave so much to so many. Cody’s legacy will live on in the stories of his friends, the echoes of laughter, and the endless football games played in his honor.
