A CAUSE TO PROTECT INALIENABLE RIGHT, BIRTHRIGHT

A CAUSE TO PROTECT OUR INALIENABLE RIGHT—BIRTHRIGHT IN OUR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN.

Tanzania Diaspora believes it is being deprived of its inalienable right (The birthright) by the Tanzania Citizenship Act of 1995. Furthermore, various provisions of the act violate the Tanzania constitution and international laws by discriminating and denying due process.

After consultations with different legal experts and researchers about this law, we are convinced that this very law violates basic human right by stripping one's citizenship by birth. Further, the 1995 Act is a prime requisite for a Stateless person. The 1995 Act not only strips a Tanzanian born of his/her citizenship but also deprives Tanzanian children born abroad of their citizenship when they turn adults.

Birthright is sacred. It can never be taken away. We believe citizenship by birth is a God-given gift and no man has a right to take away this natural gift.

Subsequently, we have created a GoFundMe account to raise Legal fees that will take care of the litigation that is yet to be filed at the Tanzania High Court. We are planning to challenge the “Tanzania citizenship Act” which violates our birthright. Funds raised will support our struggle against this unconstitutional Law.
