Dear friends and family of Caroline Hashem,

My name is Julie Kingsley. Caroline and I grew up next door to each other and are lifelong friends. I am writing to you with a heavy heart and a great need for your help. Caroline was diagnosed on December 6, 2022 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This devastating news has turned her world upside down; the past month has been a blur. Caroline is now hospitalized receiving her chemotherapy regimen every day and is in tremendous pain from fighting not only leukemia but also a virus for which she has almost no immunity left to fend off.

As a mother of 3 with two young teenage boys, she is struggling to come to terms with the fact that she may not be able to be there for them in the way that she wants to be. Caroline, as well as Jon, have not been able to work since her diagnosis, and struggled to get through the holidays. Jon spends most of his time caring for their children and doing all the things Caroline used to do. Jon goes into the hospital to see her every day leaving little time left to work. Caroline will undergo various levels of Chemo/Bone Marrow Transplant over the next year. They are in trouble and the bills are starting to pile up. Both of them are the most caring and generous people always helping others but today they are the ones in need.
